Warrumbungles and Copeton Dam, NSW

We were heading to Copeton Dam near Inverell for a few days of relaxation. On the way up, we decided to go via the Warrumbungles National Park and the Siding Spring Exploratory. We left home Saturday morning, and travelled via Cessnock, Dunedoo, Mendooran and Tooraweenah, before stopping at Camp Blackman in the Warrumbungles NP. On Sunday we visited the Siding Spring Observatory and did the tour of the complex. Monday morning we departed for Copeton, travelling via Coonabarabran, Narrabri and Bingara. After 4 days at Copeton Bay camping area, we drove home on Friday night (7 hours). We were impressed by the amount of wildlife we saw during the week.
