Fraser Island, Qld and Ulmarra, NSWFraser Island

We had a day to spare while in Hervey Bay, so decided to visit Fraser island. We headed across on the 9am barge Fraser Venture from River Heads to Wangoolba Creek, and returned at 4pm. From Wangoolba Creek, we drove across to Eurong Beach Resort and then up Five Mile Beach to check out the Maheno wreck. We returned south, stopping at Eli Creek (about 30cm deep at the crossing), then back through Happy Valley. As the tide was rising, we hit a few patches of soft sand at the top of the beach. We turned off the beach onto Cornwells Break Road up to Lake McKenzie. From the lake it was a quick trip back to Wangoolba Creek for the barge back to River Heads. Tyre pressures were 25PSI and we had no problem with traction.

Ulmarra

On The way back  from Queensland, we stopped off at Ulmarra (between Yamba and Grafton) for breakfast and a coffee. Excellent coffee and food at the Mulberry Court Cafe, and lot's of lovely shops.
