Berrima, NSW
I had the car booked in at Berrima Diesel to get a fuel injector service, so had a day to fill in Berrima. Berrima has some wonderful shops, and I could easily have spent a fortune on antiques and home wares.
Berrima was established in 1831and is the only example of an existing and largely preserved Australian Georgian colonial town. It was designed on the lines of a traditional English village, with a village green at its centre and public buildings surrounding it.
There is still a functioning gaol, a courthouse and many shops.
The main highway used to run through Berrima, but now with the motorway, most traffic bypasses the town.
A list of attractions can be found at Berrima.
