Birdsville, Qld

In September 1999, a group from Central Coast Aero Club flew out to Birdsville for the races in 3 aircraft. I flew in a Cessna 172 4 seater VH-BAO. We left early Thursday morning, where I flew the first leg to Bourke. We finally arrived in Birdsville by lunchtime Friday. We flew into Birdsville, arriving to a sea of aircraft on the ground. Once we landed, we were directed to our parking spot, which also became our campsite (we slept under the wings of the aircraft). We departed Birdsville on Sunday morning (sunrise), arriving back Monday.  On the way back, I flew the first leg from Birdsville to Charleville.
